Hearts United Cat Rescue

Hearts United Cat Rescue Hearts United Cat Rescue is a non-profit, all volunteer, no-kill rescue group. While being fostered they learn what it is like to be part of a family.

About Us

Hearts United Cat Rescue is comprised of a group of families united by our passion and dedication to help homeless cats. We do not have a physical shelter, but instead work out of a network of foster homes throughout the central Connecticut area where the fostered cats and kittens are treated like members of the family. The cats remain in their foster homes until they find their permanen

t, committed and loving families. Our talented foster families raise newborns, nurture and comfort the abandoned, and rehabilitate broken hearts. It’s a very difficult task but a deeply rewarding one. The rest of our group consists of our adoption team and our administrative staff:

Our adoption coordinator has 20 years of experience uniting families and felines, and her goal is to make your adoption event a positive and memorable one. Our administrative staff includes our President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Fundraising Officers, who have 50 years of combined experience working as professionals. They give their skills to our organization to ensure that we maintain excellent standards as a non-profit. We at Hearts United Cat Rescue recognize that for 5,000 years there has been a special relationship between cats and humans that keeps growing and evolving. Together we can keep improving and building on this bond.

UPDATE: We have good and bad news from Ariel's echo earlier this week. BAD NEWS: Ariel's murmur is caused by Double Chamber Right Ventricle (DCRV), which is a birth defect causing obstruction in right ventricle. Severe ones can lead to heart thickening, clots, heart failure, and usually shorten lifespan. GOOD NEWS: Ariel's is mild to moderate, requiring no meds. We have already ordered supplements to keep her heart strong. We did get the go ahead to spay so we are in the process of having her spayed by a specialist that will monitor her heart. All of us in Hearts United have had a special needs cat at some point and we can say that the work is worth it and the time you have with them is precious.
Thank you Pam and Beverly for sending in donations for Ariel! Her spay will cost more than usual so please consider donating. Thank you!
