In regards to the incident that occurred on the early morning of 27 April 2025, the Local IAFF Union has prepared the following statement:

"The Rocky Ford Professional Fire Fighters Union 5497 is saddened to hear that an RFFD volunteer was involved in a serious accident. We do not condone the personal choices made leading up to the incident, and they do not reflect the views and values of Local 5497 or the members. We are wishing for a speedy recovery and extend our best wishes for them in the future”
