Things are finally moving on the parking lot! We’re hoping to start pouring concrete within the next week or so. Meanwhile, work inside the building is ramping back up as we get closer to the finish line.

We’re excited to share more progress soon. Stay tuned for a full construction update video and walkthrough of the new space!

Dirt is moving. Literally.

The landlord is making progress on the drainage and water retention work needed before the parking lot can be poured — and we’re now seeing daily activity on site. That’s the green light we’ve been waiting for.

I’ll be honest: I held off on updates these past few weeks intentionally. I didn’t want to put more money or our volunteers’ time into the interior until we saw real movement on the parking lot work. That time is now.

Here’s where we stand on the interior:

The main remaining item before our next round of inspections is AC ductwork. If you have any experience with flex duct and register installation, we could really use your hands. Reach out!

Once inspections clear, we close the walls and ceilings, paint, install fixtures — and that’s a matter of weekends, not months.

Thank you for your patience and your continued financial support. We can’t wait to see you in the new space.

🚧 Buildout Update! 🚧

Big things are happening at Rockwall Makerspace!

The new space is officially coming together, and we’re targeting mid-February for completion. Walls are going up, plans are turning into reality, and the sound of progress is somewhere between power tools and happy makers 😄

We’ll continue sharing updates as we get closer to the finish line—so keep an eye out for progress pics, sneak peeks, and opening details. We can’t wait to welcome you into a bigger, better space built for creating, learning, and making cool stuff together.
