Soroptimist Rockwall Soroptimist Rockwall Projects

The Children's Advocacy Center for Rockwall County occupies The Soroptimist House, and is our main service project.

Chartered in 1984 in Rockwall, TX, our members are active or retired dynamic business and professional women who improve the lives of women and girls through programs focused on education, empowerment, and enabling opportunities. We are a part of a global volunteer organization that provides women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment. Soroptimists have subsidized the rents and utilities from the very beginning of the project. We will continue to raise funds, volunteer and assist the CAC in any way we can to help provide much needed services to the children of Rockwall County who are victims of sexual abuse, assault and neglect. We are very proud to be a Founding Member of the Children's Advocacy Center for Rockwall County. STARS stands for Soroptimist Toasting Area Retired Seniors. Once per quarter and at Thanksgiving and Christmas, our Club members celebrate the birthdays of the seniors living at Reese Manor (Gov't Low Cost Housing on Lake Meadows) with a themed Sunday luncheon prepared by the Club members and gift cards. Susan Faulkner Memorial Scholarships are given in May to senior high school girls in 3 local high schools. The memorial scholarships are named after member Dr. Susan Faulkner, a professor at Trinity College. Live your Dream is a monetary award given to women who provide the primary financial support for their family and are enrolled in or accepted to a program to improve their education, skills and employment prospects. Dream it, Be It: Career Support for Girls, targets girls in secondary school who face obstacles to their future success. It will provide girls with access to professional role models, career education and resources to live their dream. International Goodwill: We support women entrepreneurs that are looking to create a better future for themselves and their families.

🎉 Celebrating Founder’s Month! 🎉
In honor of Soroptimist Founder’s Day, we have a special display set up inside the Rockwall County Library all through the month of October! 📚✨

Did you know? Soroptimist Founder’s Day is officially celebrated on October 3. It marks the date in 1921 when the very first Soroptimist club held its founding meeting in Alameda County, California.

Stop by to check it out! The exhibit showcases our key programs and community impact, including our Live Your Dream Awards, Dream It, Be It career support, scholarships, and local outreach supporting seniors, women, and children.

A HUGE thank you to Jennifer Najmabadi for designing and setting up this wonderful display! 🙌💖

📍 Be sure to take a look next time you visit the library and grab some info on how you can join us!

The Power of the Ripple Effect 💫

When we invest in a woman’s education, we aren’t just changing one life—we are changing generations and strengthening our entire community.

A past recipient of our Live Your Dream Award recently reached out with an inspiring update. Today, she is happily remarried, thriving in a great career, and actively paying it forward by helping women escape domestic violence and secure safe housing.

What started as a single scholarship transformed her family’s trajectory—and now, she is stepping up to transform the lives of others in the same position she once was. That is the true ripple effect of empowering women.

Thank you to everyone in our community who supports our mission and helps make life-changing stories like this possible! 💙
