Because of not having the opportunity, or a chance, and, in an attempt to be cordial, I opted to say nothing, which I no longer can do. An event that began for myself and my family as a way to pay it forward and thank each and every person within the fire community, the Colbert Project was born. Every year the need presented itself and every year you showed up! The Colbert Project existed because of YOU! Last year was not a good year for me. What energy I had...belonged to my family. But the need still very much presented itself. At that point, it was decided by the Rockwall Fire Fighters Association that they would pick up where I had left off. To the many families I have met over the years...Thank you. To the many recipients...some whom have gone home and the others still earthside...thank you. For every single donor. Sponsor. Volunteer. Attendee. Honoree...Thank you! It was a good run. What an honor it was to work alongside each and everyone of you.
Thank you Tim Seymore for believing in our vision and honoring your brother, Tracy Beard. Thank you Tina Patterson for allowing me to walk alongside you and Jeff during his recovery. Thank you McKitrick Family for allowing us to walk alongside you as you had supported our cause in years prior. Thank you Garth Goodwin for bringing Waco to Rockwall. Jim McDade and Coen, thank you for allowing us to be a part of your journey. Thank you Jessica Kendall for allowing us to honor your Dan as he fought the good fight.

To the Pipes and Drums...I say you took my breathe away. I was never able to be in the room until after you played. Oh the sweet sounds.
There are many I would love to thank for their selfless acts along the way. I hope you know. I hope you know the impact you all had. What we were able to raise and gift in 7 short years was nothing short of a miracle. Every year it was never about me but He from which all blessings flow. I wish you all the best of luck. We set this event up pretty nice over the years. I hope it remains true to the fire community and for the fire community. You all are a hell of a bunch to have on your side. I am honored to have had the opportunity to host and be apart of the Firefighters Ball Event. Much love and respect.
