Proud of IBH's One Choice Prevention Community for developing new prevention materials for caregivers of elementary school-aged children. The science is clear that addiction is a pediatric-onset disorder -- which means prevention MUST start early! Parents, caregivers, and other caring adults all have a role to play. Want to learn more? Excited for our One Choice Prevention team to partner with Operation UNITE and RyeACT Coalition for this incredible gathering of professionals and advocates who protect and support drug-endangered youth.

SPEAKER SPOTLIGHT: Corinne Shea, Courtney Maynard & Nancy Pasquale
Session: From a NYC Suburb to Rural Eastern Kentucky: Supporting Youth and Families Through Community-Based Prevention

What do metro New York and rural Kentucky have in common? A belief that upstream prevention works.

Join Corinne Shea (Institute for Behavior and Health), Courtney Maynard (Operation UNITE), and Nancy Pasquale (RyeACT) as they explore how communities—urban and rural—are using early intervention and the One Choice prevention standard to protect youth from substance use.

Discover how positive youth development, community coalition-building, and data-driven strategies are reducing risk, strengthening families, and creating a new narrative: one where kids don’t just survive, they thrive.

Looking forward to hearing from members of IBH's One Choice Prevention team and highlighting our work with RyeACT Coalition!

Substance use often begins in adolescence, making early prevention and tailored intervention critical.

The September Partnership Convening will clear up common myths– such as, “all teens will try substances”—and provide strategies for youth and caregivers to promote non-use before age 21, reduce stigma, and encourage help-seeking behaviors.

Attendees will also learn key research to support these approaches and guide effective prevention.
