Israeli Dance Festival DC The Israeli Dance Festival DC is geared toward spreading the joy of Israeli dance performance to the greater Washington DC community.

In its 5th year after a 25 year hiatus the Israeli Dance Festival DC proudly establishes its place among other Israeli dance festivals in the United States and around the world. The performances and community Harkada (Dance party) are a testament to the vibrancy of the Israeli dance community in the Greater Washington, DC area and to the vision of the festival founders. Israeli dance has the power

to bring together Jews from many different places and to create connections among people of different ages, countries of origins, and backgrounds. From young children dancing in their first festival to veterans of many performances, we are united in our love for Israeli dance and what it represents: the love for Israeli song and dance in all its manifestations. From the traditional, pioneer music to modern Israeli pop; from Horas and Chasidic-inspired tunes to dance influenced by the Sephardic diaspora, the whole gamut of Jewish and Israeli multi-ethnic society is artistically reflected in its folk dance. We proudly embrace the amazing diversity of our culture through our common love of dance. We thank our sponsors and many volunteers for making this renewed tradition a reality in the heart of the nation’s capital. We look forward to seeing you at this year's festival!
