The Montgomery County Camera Club of Maryland (MoCo Camera Club) is a photography membership club that is designed for photographers of all skill levels (amateurs to professionals) to come together to learn, share, discuss, develop and advance in all areas of photography. Club activities will consist of meetings and field trips with guest speakers, photo shoots, instructional workshops and partici

pation in gallery exhibitions. Membership will be comprised of photographers from Montgomery County and the entire Washington D.C.

In this presentation, Silvana Della Camera will share her favorite techniques for turning glowing skylines, illuminated architecture and vibrant urban lights into stunning nocturnal images.

Silvana will also cover essential gear choices, exposure strategies, tips for creative composition, ways to handle light pollution and more.

Bio:
Silvana Della Camera is a New England-based Astro-landscape photographer, author, and educator specializing in night photography. Her work combines technical expertise with a deep appreciation for the night sky.

Silvana is passionate about helping and inspiring photographers of all skill levels, to capture the beauty of the Milky Way, star trails, and dark-sky landscapes through hands-on workshops, webinars and her book, “Night Shades: A Guide to Photography After Dark.”

In this presentation, Adobe Certified Expert Rob Knight will be showcasing some powerful editing tools that have recently been added to Adobe’s raw editing toolsets. As the tools improve, the work gets easier.

Rob will go over the ins and outs of the improved masking tools, point color adjustments, AI noise reduction, and more.

Bio:
Rob Knight is a professional photographer and educator. In addition to teaching classes and workshops, Rob is the Education Director for Red River Paper and a Tenba Visual Artist.

Rob founded Creative Immersion Photography Workshops in 2009. He leads workshops to Costa Rica, and in the U.S., Route 66 and coastal Maine.

“The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Photography”

Please join the Montgomery County Camera Club as we welcome Guest Speaker, Rick Hulbert. A Zoom link is provided.

Presentation:
The impacts of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on or versus Photography have emerged as among the hottest and most controversial topics of today. Rick Hulbert’s presentation takes a relatively quick look at both the upsides and downsides of AI technology from a photographer’s perspective as well as from a beholder’s or viewer’s impression.

Rick’s 90-minute presentation will provide a taste of his evolving thoughts on AI’s impact on the art of photography.

The following opinion highlights the controversy. Antti Karppinen writes, “It’s a blessing and a curse in one nifty package.”

Bio:
Rick Hulbert’s internationally awarded photography is informed from his 4-decade background as a Professional Architect and Urban Designer. He is an Elected Member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts, and a “Fellow" of The Royal Architectural Institute of Canada.

Rick has served as an instructor of photography at Simon Fraser University and has lectured and taught at Langara College and the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. He has also led multi-day photo-workshops throughout Europe and North America.
