With auditions coming up quickly in only a few days, you may be wondering... What makes Caroline, or Change such a special musical? πŸ’« Here's a few of our thoughts:

⏰ Caroline, or Change paints a profound portrait of America, set in Louisiana in 1963, with themes around grief, racial tension, and poverty that are still relevant today.
πŸ–€ Caroline, or Change features a diverse cast that dives into both Black and Jewish American experiences and their relationships, plus unique storytelling by anthropomorphized inanimate objects and appliances.
πŸ’ Caroline, or Change is nuanced and thought-provoking, and is a piece of theatre that will challenge audiences to examine themselves and the world.
🎡 Caroline, or Change's complex, genre-bending score will keep you on your toes with a fusion of blues, gospel, Motown, klezmer, classical, and folk.

Come experience how special this show is firsthand but joining our cast! It's not too late to sign up to audition. In-person auditions are Monday and Wednesday, August 3 and 5 from 7-10pm. Slots are still available and walk-ins will be seen as time and space allows. Virtual auditions should be submitted by Monday, August 3 by 5pm.

About the show: 🎡 Set in one of the most pivotal times in America's history (1963 Louisiana), the Tony-nominated Caroline, or Change is riveting, moving and awe-inspiring. Featuring a virtuosic score by Jeanine Tesori (Shrek The Musical, Thoroughly Modern Millie), it blends blues, gospel and traditional Jewish melodies, creating a breathtaking medium for Tony Kushner's provocative and personal story of political change, social change... and pocket change.

In addition to the characters listed in this post, RMT is also casting Cover/Ensemble: In addition to the principal cast, we are seeking 4-5 Company Artists who will serve as covers and as onstage embodiments of memory, community, and the unseen forces within the Gellman household.
