The Laughlin Family Foundation was honored to participate in Johns Hopkins Medicine's 2026 Stride & Thrive 5K on June 7 at the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore.

This year's event marked a special milestone of celebrating 10 years of hope and progress in the fight against gynecologic cancers. We were proud to join patients, families, caregivers, survivors, and supporters in raising awareness and supporting the vital work being done to improve lives and advance care.

Rare cancers account for nearly 20–25% of all cancer diagnoses, yet these cancers often receive significantly less research funding and awareness.

That’s why events like our annual Swing for a Cure Celebrity Golf Tournament matter so deeply. Every golfer, sponsor, auction bidder, donor, and supporter plays a role in helping us fund critical rare cancer research and advocacy efforts that save lives.

Last year, together, we raised an incredible $300,000 — making it our most successful tournament to date. What an unforgettable milestone!

As we look ahead to 2026, we are inspired by the momentum, the generosity, and the community behind this mission.

SAVE THE DATE: The 6th Annual Swing for a Cure Celebrity Golf Tournament will be held on Monday August 31, 2026 at the Crofton Country Club. ⛳

The tournament is our biggest fundraising event of the year! Golfers join celebrities from the Washington Capitals , and other local sports teams, on the green to raise money for rare cancer research.

Directly after the tournament, we host a dinner gala with both a silent and live auction, giving onsite attendees, and the broader public, the chance to bid on rare sports memorabilia, with all proceeds supporting The Laughlin Family Foundation’s mission. 💜

With just a few months away, priority access has been extended to our returning sponsors and partners with limited opportunities to follow.

Laughlin Advocacy in Action: From the Golf Course to Capitol Hill ⛳

Courtney and Linda joined physicians, researchers, and advocates from across the gynecologic cancer community on Capitol Hill as a part of the Society of Gynecologic Oncology's Annual Advocacy Day in Washington D.C.

They met with Representative Kweisi Mfume, Steny Hoyer, and Bill Keating to advocate for increased research funding and policies that improve outcomes for individuals facing endometrial cancer.

Their visit marked an important opportunity to ensure that policymakers heard from the patients, families, and advocates affected by an endometrial cancer diagnosis.

Did you know that gynecologic cancers account for nearly one-third of cancers affecting women, yet many symptoms are often overlooked or dismissed?

Ovarian, endometrial, cervical, vulvar, and vaginal cancers all deserve greater awareness, education, research, and advocacy.

Yesterday, Courtney and Linda Laughlin spent the day in Washington, DC for Advocacy Day.

They joined a group of doctors and advocates in the gynecologic cancer community on Capitol Hill 🏛️ and met with several Congressional offices to advocate for increased research funding and policies that improve patient outcomes for endometrial cancer.

We believe that every voice matters, and together, we can drive real change. More details coming soon on how our voices have driven for real policy change for those facing an endometrial cancer diagnosis.
