TransCen Chief Innovation and Training Officer Sean Roy traveled to College Station, Texas to lead a full-day Institute on facilitating work-based learning for students with disabilities. Over 100 secondary transition educators from around the state learned foundational strategies and shared their experiences!

One key takeaway is that schools need support implementing employment activities such as engaging employers and energizing families. We're extending a special thanks to Robin and Joette from Center on Disability and Development at Texas A&M University for the opportunity!

A powerful reminder that accessibility shouldn't be an afterthought.

Today, we celebrate the 36th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a landmark civil rights law that has helped protect the rights of people with disabilities since 1990.

The Mid-Atlantic ADA Center has helped remove barriers in employment, transportation, public services, telecommunications, and many other areas of daily life. As we mark this milestone, we also recognize the advocates, self-advocates, organizations, employers, and community partners whose ongoing efforts continue to uphold the promise of the ADA.

Happy 36th Anniversary to the ADA!
