Our Story
ASHA Advocacy is managed by ASHA’s government affairs and public policy department. It is intended as a tool for members of the community looking to get involved in advocacy as well as a resource for information on speech, language, and hearing issues in the public arena.
The following guidelines are meant to provide a framework for participation. The Facebook Terms of Use (http://www.facebook.com/terms.php) provides additional terms for using the Page. These guidelines are subject to change, according to evolving standards and interaction.
•Any comments and messages that attack, ridicule, denounce, impugn a person's character, or impute immoral or dishonorable attributes to community members on the basis of age, disability, ethnicity, gender identity, national origin, race, religion, s*x, s*xual orientation, or veteran status will be deleted. Repeat offenders may be blocked.
•ASHA Advocacy uses Facebook's profanity blocking for our Page. Facebook determines what to block by using the most commonly reported words and phrases marked offensive by the community.
•Any comments and messages not relevant to topics covered by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association advocacy efforts may be hidden or deleted.
•Duplicate comments and repeated postings on the same topic cause confusion and clutter the Wall. When discovered, they will be deleted by ASHA staff.
