Nourish Now Nourish Now's mission is to solve two major social issues simultaneously: food waste and hunger. metro area.

Nourish Now works to alleviate food insecurity in Montgomery County, MD and beyond by reducing the waste of unused fresh food. We strive to meet these goals by collecting surplus fresh food from our dedicated food donor partners throughout the Washington D.C. Food is then redistributed directly to families in need and to over 70 other local nonprofit organizations that provide food assistance regionally.

Saturday was a reminder that history is shaped in the moments when people gather, share their stories, lift one another up, and choose to care for their community.

At Nourish Now, we believe food is more than a resource. It is a way to connect people, restore dignity, and strengthen the communities we call home.

We are grateful to have been part of a day where generations came together through music, creativity, kindness, and community action.

Thank you to Ahmet Mehmetoglu for welcoming Nourish Now into Saturday’s celebration of peace, love, justice, music, and community.

We were honored to have a space at the Freedom Village to share how Nourish Now works every day to end hunger through food recovery and support families throughout Montgomery County.

Saturday was a beautiful reminder that kindness is free, community is powerful, and when we come together across generations, we create a stronger sense of belonging and a future rooted in care and solidarity.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, listened, connected, and shared in the spirit of community with us. We are grateful to be part of a day that brought so many people together through music, connection, and action.
