A Better World Foundation has been sharing "simple, powerful ideas to improve our lives and planet" since 1996. We are a global thought leader and social innovator in helping people and organizations strengthen and expand their definitions of themselves, and accelerate simple powerful ideas to improve our lives and planet. Our programs are defined and developed by the people who use them, based on
what they value, how they live, and the meaning and direction they want for themselves and the world around them. Research confirms self-defined and developed meaning and direction is a foundation of well-being, which measurably improves our performance, health, resilience, esteem, and happiness… and positively impacts everyone connected to us, even people we will never meet. This work includes our initiatives to help those living under such conditions they must focus every moment on survival, unable to consider the possibility of something more. We can reach people with lasting improvement that few organizations ever touch. Our practice areas are public messaging, education programs, workplace initiatives, and international development… and we have worked on five continents with UN agencies, the World Bank, embassies, the State Department, USAID, universities, schools, and hundreds of NGOs worldwide. And, we are just getting started.

History
In 1996, a former national youth leader developing programs for the Olympic Games in Atlanta, noticed the connection between personal and global issues, and a lack of self-defined and developed meaning and direction. It began with “Simple, powerful ideas to improve our lives and planet”. Our first programs were at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games, and were among the highest rated in our venue. In 2004, ABWF relocated to Greater Washington, DC, and incorporated as a nonprofit in Rockville, Maryland. ABWF worked behind-the-scenes for a decade on committees and coalitions, and provided speakers, facilitators, and advisors to non-governmental, government, and intergovernmental organizations. We have worked on five continents with UN agencies, the World Bank, embassies, the State Department, USAID, universities, schools, and hundreds of NGOs worldwide. And, we are just getting started.
