Main Street Connect, Inc. (Main Street), a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, is the first community-oriented, affordable, accessible housing solution to redefine the concept of inclusion in a large, vibrant community space within the apartment complex itself. Just steps from a subway stop and adjacent to the town center in Rockville, Maryland, our thoughtful and purposeful member-based programming breaks down barriers to improve quality of life for everyone, regardless of age, ability or background. We are a mindset and culture of hope and opportunity, meant to flourish beyond Main Street’s walls and inspire a new generation - without barriers, without judgment and with genuine inclusion for all. Apartments
Seventy-five percent (75%) of the 70 apartments in the building are affordable – serving households earning 30%, 50% and 60% of the Area Medium Income (AMI) – and 25% of the units are specifically designated for individuals with varying special needs. Details about the apartments and the application process are available from Main Street’s property management company, S.L. Nusbaum, at LivingAtMainStreet.com. Community Center and Membership
The ground floor of the Main Street building has a 10,000-square-foot community center that includes a fitness center, teaching kitchen, multimedia room and classroom. Together with professional partners, Main Street offers a robust calendar of social, cultural, educational and social programs and events - more than 20 each week! Main Street’s community center and programming are open to residents and to non-residents who join as members. Located at the front of the Main Street building, Soulfull Cafe provides employment opportunities for people of all abilities and an inclusive gathering spot for the community at large.
