The German W**e Society’s Capital Chapter held its annual Oktober Weinfest on Saturday. October 17, 2026 at the King Farm Center in Rockville, MD. Members and guests enjoyed 16 German w**es from top producers and eight w**e regions, and an ample buffet of delicious German dishes. A successful celebration of fall and German w**es!

The Capital Chapter of the German W**e Society held a fabulous Asian w**e dinner at Far East Restaurant in Rockville, MD on Sept. 4, 2026, pairing Chinese food with German w**es. More than 50 guests enjoyed dim sum, Peking duck, Hunan lamb, crispy beef, vegetables, and dessert, along with eight Riesling, Spatburgunder, Gewürztraminer, Dornfelder and Silvaner w**es. Owner David Wong and his staff presented an excellent array of very tasty and ample Chinese dishes, in an attractive banquet room. Participants were eager to repeat this event!

On Saturday, July 25, 2026, the German W**e Society held a fantastic w**e cruise on the Potomac, viewing the monuments and landmarks of Washington, DC while sampling 22 different German w**es. The afternoon weather was lovely, sunny and in the mid-80s. 40 members and guests, including many new participants, enjoyed this voyage, with w**es accompanied by tasty sandwiches and treats from La Bohemia Bakery.

The German W**e Society and International Club of DC jointly hosted a Spring Gala at the German Embassy’s Embassy House on the evening of May 29, 2026. Appetizers, a tasty buffet dinner including white asparagus and ham, and desserts were provided by Chef Mikko. Guests enjoyed tasting ten German w**es selected by the German W**e Society. Weather was beautiful and added to a highly enjoyable evening.

The German W**e Society’s Capital Chapter had a very enjoyable and educational tasting on May 2, 2026, presented by Annette Schiller. We compared twelve w**es from Germany and Burgundy, six each from the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes, ranging from the regional through village levels and up to the premier cru level. W**es from both regions came off very well!
