We had an amazing time attending the MELLFIN (Maryland English Language Learning Family Involvement Network) event! 💙

Schools, organizations, and community leaders came together to share resources and ideas for supporting immigrants and English language learners. We loved connecting with so many schools interested in collaborating with Hungry4Change—some even invited us to future events to table and share resources with parents and students!

A huge thank you to the incredible leaders, Ellie and Youngchan, for creating such a welcoming and impactful space. Youngchan has always been so kind and supportive to us. One of the sweetest moments was when Youngchan invited a group of Korean senior women to make handmade fans for attendees… and they made one especially for H4C 🥹🪭

Such a meaningful event, and we’re already looking forward to coming back next year!

In March, Hungry4Change had the privilege of welcoming many families to our hub for a virtual Know Your Rights session, led together with Wendy, our paralegal 💙

We’re truly honored to create spaces where people can learn, feel empowered, and better understand their rights. Seeing so many participants join and engage meant a lot to us!

Serving warm meals and sharing smiles at Central Union Mission 💙

Founded in 1884, this incredible organization is the oldest food bank in DC—originally serving Civil War veterans and continuing to support many veterans today. Beyond meals, they provide vital resources like social workers and job training programs, making a lasting impact in the community.

Shoutout to our AU crew—Professor Vicky and Alex—for jumping in to help! And yes… Prof. Vicky made sure we didn’t forget to show off the hair nets 😂

We recently volunteered with the Mobile Markets at the Universities of Shady Grove, helping distribute food to community members and share our flyers with resources for one-on-one assistance.

We’re also grateful for the opportunity to receive a shoutout and share a quick message during the event—thank you for having us! 💙

Giovanni and Grace attended the Montgomery County Dept of Health & Human Services Annual Point-in-Time Count last night—an effort to count the number of people experiencing homelessness so the county can better allocate funding for homeless services.

They had the opportunity to speak with individuals, listen to their story, and complete the survey to help connect them with resources and support. Small moments, meaningful impact 💙

Yesterday we volunteered at Foggy Bottom Food Pantry, distributing food. For the first time, we had American University students join us!

Thrilled to be partnering with friends to lead this group and plan biweekly volunteer opportunities—from food and clothing distribution to environmental initiatives.
