ENLIGHTEN YOUTH EMPOWERMENT CENTER INC (EYEC) IS a non-profit and non-partisan organization established to promote youth ENGAGEMENT through programs that address their needs to be masters of their own destiny.

OUR MISSION IS TO EMPOWER POOR AND DISADVANTAGED YOUTH FOR A BETTER QUALITY OF LIFE FOR THEMSEVES AND THEIR COMMUNITIES THROUGH POVERTY REDUCTION, EDUCATION,TRAINING, BETTER HEALTH CARE, HOUSING, GENDER EQUALITY
AS WELL AS CIVIC AND LEADERSHIP PROGRAMS.

I.1.SELF EMPLOYMENT AND SMALL BUSINESS PROJECTS TO EMPOWER YOUTH.
The beneficiaries included high school and college drop out women, young single mothers, widows who lost their spouses in ethnic conflicts/wars, displaced families from conflict areas, young college and high school drop out young men and women, displaced farmers, and unemployed youth and drought stricken people and refugees.
Self-employment small business projects identified by the beneficiaries during focus group discussions that generate income that would allow them to care for themselves and their families for which they need financial support, seed money or start up capital, skills training and access to banking facilities include among others the following:
a.Micro-credit programs for young women and men
b.Youth Computer Training Center for young women and men
c) Home based small Bakery and food business
d) Home based, Street/ curbside hot Food business
e) Fast food outlet
f) Coffee/tea and Snack business,
g) Health drinks/juice
h) Meal Kits/Prepackaged snacks/baby foods
i) Organic and herbal soap making Business
j) T-shirt businesse
k) Sewing and Alteration business
l) Massage Theraphy etc
m) Driving Skills training for employment
n) Videographer, photography and Video Editing

p) Auto Repair Training

Establishing An Integrated Youth Computer Training Center and Civic Education including preparation for certifications and job.
II.PROVISION OF HEALTH CARE AND WELL-BEING PROJECT IDENTIFIED BY BENEFICIARIES.
ESTABLISHMENT OF COMMUNITY HEALTH CARE CENTERS TO PROVIDE HEALTH CARE AND COUNSELING SERVICES TO THE YOUTH INCLUDING YOUNG GIRLS AND WOMEN
III. PROVISION OF OPPORTUNITIES FOR BASIC HOUSING SERVICES FOR THE POOR AND DISADVANTAGED YOUTH
IV.PROVISION OF OPPORTUNITIES FOR CLEAN WATER SUPPLY FOR THE POOR AND DISADVANTAGED YOUTH
V.GIVE POOR YOUNG GIRLS AND BOYS ACCESS TO QUALITY EDUCATION THROUGH THE ESTABLISHMENT OF SCHOOLS TO IMPROVE THEIR LIVES.
VI.ESTABLISH AN INFORMATION LITERACY COMMUNICATION CENTER TO COMBAT MISSINFORMATION TO END VIOLENCE AND SEXUAL ASSAULT AGAINST WOMEN TO ENSURE WOMEN’S EQUALITY.

Enlighten Youth Empowerment Center, Inc is a non-profit and non-partisan organization established to promote youth empowerment through programs that address the needs of young people such as education, training, employment, health care, housing, and civic and youth leadership programs..
Board
The Board of Directors of Enlighten Youth are dedicated professionals in the field of non-profit management, women in development and youth issues, communications/journalism, psychology, health, government, civil society, art, project management, and experienced UN Consultants, journalists, communication experts, and managers in government and non-profit organizations, civil society and IT projects. These experienced members of the leadership team are critical for attaining the strategic goals of our Organization.
The Center works with youth organizations, women organizations, community organizations, donors, volunteer groups, local government representatives, and advocacy groups to achieve the goal of youth empowerment. The Center undertakes youth empowerment projects through research, training programs, workshops, career exploration, and healthy life styles and leadership initiates. The major programs of Enlighten lay emphasis on poverty reduction and the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
