Join us on Zoom at Potomac Passport Rotary Club presents “From Crisis to Care: What Happens When the System Isn’t There”
Guest Speaker:
Taylor Ragano
About the Talk
Mental health crises don’t happen in isolation—and too often, neither does the system respond with continuity, dignity, or prevention.
Drawing from her lived experience during a mental health crisis, Taylor Ragano shares what happens when people seek help and encounter a fragmented system built around emergencies rather than recovery. Her story exposes critical gaps in crisis treatment, discharge planning, and prevention—and how those gaps impact individuals, families, and communities.
Taylor turned pain into purpose, helping create awareness and pathways that support people before, during, and after crisis.
Why This Matters
• Emergency rooms are not designed for mental health care
• Crisis response often comes too late
• Prevention and follow-up remain underfunded and overlooked
• Communities play a critical role in closing these gaps
This is a humanitarian conversation about awareness, dignity, and community responsibility.
Audience
Open to Rotarians and guests interested in mental health, community service, healthcare systems, and prevention-focused solutions.
