Tongan Language Week (Uike Kātoanga'i 'o e lea faka-Tonga) ran from August 16 to August 22, 2026. The official theme was “Ko 'etau hiva, ko e fe'unu mahu'inga ia ki he mo'ui 'a e Tonga,” which translates to "Our music is a vital strand of our Tongan culture".

Prince George’s County Public Schools Back2School Resource Fair

📚✨ WHAT AN AMAZING DAY FOR ACCOMPLISHED LITERACY LEARNERS! ✨📚

Saturday, August 8th, Accomplished Literacy Learners had the wonderful opportunity to participate in the Prince George’s County Public Schools Back-to-School Resource Fair, and it was a HUGE SUCCESS! 🎉💙

We were thrilled to connect with so many students, parents, caregivers, and families as they prepared for a successful new school year. By the end of the event, we had given away ALL of our inventory! 🙌🏽📚

Every Mini Home Library, family literacy tip, resource, and giveaway we brought was placed into the hands of families. Seeing the excitement of children receiving books and families stopping by to learn ways to support literacy at home reminded us exactly why this work matters. ❤️📖

A very special THANK YOU to Staples for generously donating crayons for us to distribute to students. 🖍️ Your support helped us add another special resource to the families’ back-to-school experience.

And a huge THANK YOU to Berry Blue Bakes for creating the beautiful custom cookies featuring the Accomplished Literacy Learners logo! 🍪💙 They were such a special addition to our table and helped make the day even more memorable.

Thank you to Prince George’s County Public Schools for creating an incredible opportunity for community organizations to come together and support students and families.

We left with empty containers, full hearts, and even greater excitement for what’s ahead! 💙📚✨

July is Disability Pride Month. It's a time to honor the history, accomplishments, struggles and humanity of the more than 1 billion people with disabilities around the globe.

On July 26, 1990, President George H.W. Bush signed the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA). The historic law prohibited discrimination against disabled Americans in all areas of public life. Unfortunately, despite the landmark decision, discrimination still exists. Disability Pride Month helps bring attention to the misconceptions and obstacles that disabled people continue to face and encourages their complete inclusion in our societies.

Whether you are a person with a disability or an ally of the disability community, you can participate in a variety of activities that highlight issues of concern to members of the disabled community.

Congratulations Class of PreK 3!

As another incredible school year comes to a close, my heart is full of gratitude and pride. 💕✨

Watching my PreK 3 students grow from curious little learners into confident, capable, and kind individuals has been one of the greatest joys of this year. Together we learned, laughed, explored, created, and celebrated so many milestones along the way.

To my amazing students: thank you for your hugs, smiles, endless curiosity, and the special memories you’ve given me. I am so proud of each and every one of you and all that you have accomplished this year.

As you take your next big step, remember to keep asking questions, keep believing in yourselves, and never stop learning. The future is bright, and I can’t wait to see all the wonderful things you will achieve.

📚✨ What an incredible day at the Community Resource Fair at Wheatley Education Campus! ✨📚

Today was a powerful reminder of why Accomplished Literacy Learners exists.

We had the opportunity to connect with so many engaged and caring parents who shared concerns, questions, and hopes about their children’s reading development. From discussions about building literacy skills at home to finding ways to increase children’s confidence as readers, every conversation reinforced the importance of early literacy support and family engagement.

💙 And once again, Accomplished Literacy Learners delivered!

Our Mini Libraries (Literature Environments) were distributed with passion, purpose, and a commitment to putting books directly into the hands of children and families. Seeing the excitement on children’s faces and the gratitude from parents reminds us that access to books can truly make a difference.

Every mini library represents more than books—it represents opportunity, encouragement, imagination, and the belief that every child deserves the chance to become a successful reader.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table, shared their stories, asked questions, and supported our mission. Together, we are building stronger readers, stronger families, and stronger communities—one book at a time. 📖❤️
