All of us were created to work with purpose.

Having a job can feel ordinary, but just a few years ago, being employed wasn’t an option for many people in this community.

Creating jobs and training people to work with excellence is a core value of Kijani Farm. Because work is about more a paycheck. It’s about using what we’ve been given to tend to the world God created.

Today, cooks, teachers, craftsmen, farmers, and more are rising up in this community. They’re building skills, creating healthy and flourishing lives, and providing for their families with dignity.

That’s why we want to work with intentionality, excellence, and joy!

And our recurring supporters are a huge part of making that possible.

This is the Shamba - a closer look at the people, work, and stories growing at Kijani Farm.

A healthy community is something we cultivate together.

During our medical camp last week, we saw burns from fires, broken bones, and at-risk pregnancies requiring urgent care. For families in the Maasai communities we serve, getting that care can mean traveling long distances and taking on costs that are difficult to bear.

But when medical professionals come to the community, care becomes closer, more accessible, and more affordable.

This is The Shamba. Cultivating the work that matters, one family at a time. And just like a shamba needs consistent care to grow, this work depends on ongoing support.

Your recurring gift helps us keep planting, tending, and growing access to quality medical care in our community.

Stay tuned for more about the clinic coming soon to Kijani Farm!

Day 3 of the Medical Camp at Kijani Farm

You may not know this, but all public hospitals in Kenya are currently on strike. Many families are not receiving the care they need, and going to a private hospital is often a heavy financial burden.

This medical camp was planned months ago, but only God could have known that the timing would be so miraculous for hundreds of people in our community.

Quality care without the financial burden for patients.

God works all things together for good!

Today was the start of a medical camp hosted at Kijani Farm for our surrounding communities. We are so grateful for the Kenyan and American teams collaborating for this opportunity that will bless so many families who need medical care.

Would you pray for every person that walks through our gates? Both for physical and spiritual healing.

“Praise the Lord, my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.

Praise the Lord, my soul,
and forget not all his benefits—

who forgives all your sins
    and heals all your diseases.”

- Psalm 103:1-3

“I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow.” (1 Corinthians 3:6)

Four years ago was the grand opening of Kijani Farm’s bore hole, and by the grace of God it produces an abundance of clean water!

If faith is the foundation for planting seeds, clean water has “watered” the other areas of ministry at Kijani Farm.

Our feeding program for students, construction projects, agriculture, and the upcoming clinic all need an abundance of clean water to flourish. We’re so thankful for it!

For those of you who’ve been with us from breaking ground, to the opening of our bore hole, and now to this point, you are creating ripples of momentum for more people to know about Jesus through opportunities that God is growing at Kijani Farm.

SEEDS OF FAITH

Susan has been attending our Women’s Bible Study for the past five years, and we sat down with her to talk about the impact it has had on her faith.

“We started with a small number of women, but I kept going consistently. The Bible has helped me in so many ways throughout my spiritual growth. What has kept me coming to Bible study is the fellowship with other women, as well as the blessing of praying together.

“This kind of Bible study wasn’t available before, so it was a great answer to my prayers when it started. I had always prayed to have a deeper knowledge of the Scriptures.

“I have learned that with God, everything is possible, and that God answers prayers. God has transformed my family through prayer, so I know it is a blessing.

“Going to Bible study makes me feel the love and unity among fellow women in Christ. It has strengthened my faith in God, and that’s why I live by the phrase, ‘God is able,’ in every situation.”
