Here are some nourishing ways that Holy Basil and Nettles support us as we celebrate World Health Day and the enter into spring time!🌎🩺

Holy Basil (AKA Tulsi): Holy basil, originally from southern India, is easy to grow in your garden or in pots on a sunny deck. A fresh or dried tea uplifts the spirit and helps the heart embody a feeling of compassion and openness-truly medicine for these times. When taken regularly, Holy Basil enhances overall balance, clarity of mind, and well-being.

Nettles: Nettle leaf tea (dried or fresh), helps restore the body’s overall energy, nourishes the adrenal glands, aids the liver and kidneys in their natural detoxification processes, and supports people who feel chronically tired. As nettle decomposes their nutrients are given back to Mother Earth.

The Herbal Hummingbird Hub spreads this medicine through our Herbal Mutual Aid Program where we send packages of Nettles, Mugwort, Lemon Verbena, Yarrow, and Holy Basil/Tulsi to vulnerable areas: https://www.herbalhummingbirdhub.org/mutual-aid

In 2025 we were able to share 210 herb kits and can double this in 2026 through your continued support: https://www.herbalhummingbirdhub.org/get-involved

Did you know a group of hummingbirds is called a charm? We were charmed by the success of the event and were thrilled to welcome dozens of Hub supporters into our healing garden!

After months of preparation in and out of the garden, we officially launched our Capital Campaign to expand our work. We gathered in our Willow House classroom and shared how this fundraising effort will allow us to hire an inaugural paid staff, expand programming, and institute a brand new Hub space!

We came closer to our Summer Fundraising Goal which will allow us to hire an Inaugural Director in the Fall and could not do it without our incredible sponsors:

🔹The Wright Collective .collective
🔹Danica Candles
🔹Blue Hill Co-op
