Aransas Pathways Aransas Pathways is a venue-tax supported project to enhance the Aransas County community in the areas of History, Birding, Kayaking and Hike and Bike Trails.

The Aransas Pathways Steering Committee and Technical Committees for History, Birding, Kayaking, and Trails the Project continues to make progress toward its goal of establishing new or updated attractions which will provide more things for visitors to the county to do. Aransas Pathways is responsible for coordinating, funding and completing projects brought forward by the Technical Committees. Al

l projects are funded by the venue tax passed in May 2010 or grants from various organizations and individuals. The venue tax is collected through hotels, motels and rental property management companies and is paid by visitors to the county. There is no cost to property owners within the County. The purpose is put “visitor’s heads in beds” but all projects serve a dual purpose, as visitors and citizens alike can enjoy the amenities. The Project when approved by Commissioner’s Court and then, only when the project is being completed on land which is controlled by the project. This means that property acquisition by purchase or by lease is an important and time consuming activity. This is a major portion of the time required to complete most of the Pathways Projects.

⚠️KAYAK AT SUNSET WEATHER UPDATE⛔️ (As of 4:20 PM)

After closely monitoring today’s weather conditions and forecast, we have made the decision to modify tonight’s event for safety reasons.

Current forecasts indicate rain and potential storms during the time paddlers would be on the water. While we hoped a short delay might allow conditions to improve, safety must remain our top priority.

Instead, we invite everyone to join us at Murph Park between 6:30 PM and 7:00 PM.

Here’s the plan:
• Gather at Murph Park and enjoy the evening with fellow paddlers, volunteers, vendors, and community partners.

• Dinner service from Stevie Lew’s BBQ begins around 7:00 PM.

• Music, fellowship, and community activities will continue as planned.

• If storms move through and conditions become safe, participants may have the opportunity to enjoy a shorter paddle from Murph Park.

We know many of you were looking forward to the full sunset paddle, and so were we. Thank you for your understanding as we make the safest decision for everyone involved.

We appreciate your support of Aransas Pathways and our Pathways in Motion program. We’ll continue monitoring conditions and provide updates if needed.

EVENT UPDATE | KAYAK AT SUNSET-JUNE 19 (as of 1:22 PM)

We're looking forward to seeing everyone this evening for Pathways in Motion: Paddle with Purpose – Kayak at Sunset!

At this time, the event is still scheduled to proceed as planned. Our team is closely monitoring weather conditions throughout the afternoon.

If necessary, we may delay the paddle launch by up to 30 minutes to allow any passing weather to move through safely.

Should paddling conditions become unsafe, we may transition to a community gathering at Howard Murph Memorial Park featuring music, refreshments, and fellowship rather than cancel the event entirely.
