What a meaningful milestone—during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we’ve surpassed 900 followers! 💜

Domestic violence affects 1 in 3 women in Texas. That’s a lot of women, families, and friends who may need support. We’re here to help educate our community and support local women facing these situations.

Thank you for every follow and share. You never know who in your circle may need to hear that they’re not alone and that resources are available. Your support helps that message reach them. 💜

💜 One organization cannot do this work alone—and we were never meant to.

Building a stronger support system for individuals experiencing domestic violence takes an entire community.

It takes counselors and advocates.
Law enforcement and healthcare providers.
Churches and nonprofits.
Local businesses and employers.
Landlords and housing partners.
Educators, volunteers, donors, and neighbors.

At The Well Rockport, we want to build partnerships that help fill the gaps—from immediate safety and emotional support to financial education, employment, life skills, housing resources, and long-term independence.

As we work toward establishing a local resource center, community collaboration will be one of the most important pieces of making that vision successful.

🤝 Could your business, organization, church, or professional expertise be part of that network?

We would love to hear from you.

Together, we can build a community where asking for help leads to real resources, real opportunities, and real hope. 💜

💜 Awareness is where change begins.

Domestic violence isn’t always something you can see.

It can involve control, isolation, intimidation, financial abuse, emotional abuse, stalking, threats, or other behaviors designed to take away someone’s independence and sense of safety.

That’s why education matters.

When our community understands the signs of abuse, we become better friends, neighbors, coworkers, family members, and advocates.

At The Well Rockport, part of our mission is to make sure people in Aransas County know that support exists—and that asking for help should never come with shame.

This Domestic Violence Awareness Month, take a few minutes to learn something new, share a resource, wear purple, or simply start a conversation. 💜

Awareness creates understanding.
Understanding creates change.

💜 We wouldn’t be where we are without YOU.

As The Well Rockport continues working toward a local resource center, we want to take a moment to thank every business, organization, church, donor, sponsor, volunteer, community partner, and individual who has supported us along the way.

Whether you’ve donated, volunteered, attended an event, shared a post, made a connection, or simply encouraged us—you have helped move this mission forward. 💜

And we’re not done yet!

Your continued support helps us build the programs, staffing, resources, and services our community needs.

Give. Partner. Volunteer. Share.

Every little bit moves us one step closer. Together, we’re building something our community can rely on. 💜

💜 Three things everyone should know about domestic violence:

1️⃣ It isn’t always visible. Domestic violence can involve patterns of power and control, even when there are no visible injuries.

2️⃣ Support starts with listening. If someone shares what they’re experiencing, respond with care and without blame or judgment.

3️⃣ Knowing where to turn matters. The right support can help someone understand their options and decide what feels safest for them.

Need support or want to learn about local resources? Call The Well Rockport at 361-717-1307 on Tuesdays or Thursdays, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

For 24/7 support, call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE (7233) or text START to 88788.

💜 Let’s raise awareness together.

Domestic violence isn’t always physical. It can include emotional, psychological, financial, sexual, and digital abuse, as well as stalking. At its core, abuse is a pattern of power and control that can affect someone’s safety, independence, and well-being.

The CDC’s latest national survey found that nearly 1 in 3 women and more than 1 in 5 men have experienced psychological aggression from an intimate partner. It also found that more than 1 in 3 women and more than 1 in 6 men have experienced contact sexual violence, physical violence, and/or stalking by a partner.

Awareness helps us recognize that abuse can take many forms, offer support without judgment, and remind people they don’t have to face it alone. Healthy relationships include respect, safety, and choice.

💜 Awareness starts a conversation. Education helps us understand how to help.

Let’s talk about why The Well Rockport is working toward a permanent resource center.

When someone is facing a difficult situation, knowing where to start can feel overwhelming. A welcoming place to ask questions, understand options, and connect with support can make that next step feel a little more possible. 💜

Our vision is a resource center where women can find:
💜 A listening ear and support without judgment.
💜 Help with safety planning and connections to community resources.
💜 Education about healthy relationships, referrals for legal assistance and counseling.
💜 Opportunities to build confidence, financial knowledge, and everyday life skills.

It would also give us a place to train volunteers and bring community partners together—because learning how to support someone is something we can all be part of.

Together, we can build a community where asking for help feels easier and knowing how to help becomes more common. 💜

💜 Hello, October! Let’s wear purple and start a conversation!

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and we’d love to see you showing your support in purple all month long. A shirt, a ribbon, your nails—have fun with it! 💜

Not a purple person? That’s okay! When someone says, “I can’t believe it’s already October!” you’ve got the perfect response:

“Did you know it’s also Domestic Violence Awareness Month?” 💬

Just like that, you’ve helped spread awareness! Talking about domestic violence helps break down stigma, encourages us to learn, and reminds someone who may be struggling that they aren’t alone.

Domestic violence affects people every day, including in our own community. Together, we can make conversations about support, safety, and healthy relationships feel more welcome. Small conversations can open important doors.

📸 Wearing purple? Drop your selfie in the comments! Or leave a 💜 to help us kick off a month of awareness, connection, and hope.
