What happens when a simple doorway becomes a daily obstacle?
For one local father, already devoted to caring for his son with unique challenges, that question became very real right as he was recovering from surgery himself. While his need for a wheelchair is temporary, safe access had to be in place quickly so he could continue to be mobile for both he and his son.
This last week, ACMSI (Aransas County Medical Services) reached out to Habitat for Humanity with that urgent need.
Because of partnership, we were able to move quickly. ACMSI helped cover much of the materials, and Habitat for Humanity provided the labor, turning a shared mission into action.
With the help of dedicated volunteers Bob Gustaffsen , Mike Mclaughlin, and Mike McKay a new ramp is now in place easing the burden on a caregiver, supporting recovery, and restoring safe access for this family.
This is the power of partnership.
This is the heart of Habitat. ❤️
