What is Little Blessing Ministry about . It’s to pray, encourage, bless, and help not just a specific church but a neighbor, friend, coworker, family members, or a church family member. Locally, out of town ,out of state .
Sick, facing a tough day, hospital stay, shut in, or just needing to be encouraged. Message a name and address and we will do the rest. Little Blessings go along way 🙂
This is how the Ministry started.
This will be a long post but I hope you take the time to read this entire post. If you are reading this, you know I - Melanie Fike, -was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. I’ve had chemo, Whipple surgery, more chemo, then another recurrence of cancer, more chemo, radiation, tumor surgery that ended with complications, a feeding tube, bone pain and recently found out the cancer has returned.
Bill, my husband, was forced to leave his job 3 years ago to become my caretaker and of course, this caused a major drop in our finances. Our journey thru my cancer is not done. This journey has taken and still takes a huge toll on us financially and mentally. We were traveling to Indianapolis for chemo treatments and doctor appointments every 2 weeks until the decision was made to stop all treatments and God is in charge now .
We were usually there for 3 days. The medical challenge expenses and travel expenses on top of normal monthly expenses and a drastic cut in income, not feeling well at all and the constant worry about the cancer spreading of my cancer is exhausting. Life is a daily walk through fire by any standards.
Bill and I have learned and experienced so much of God thru this journey. Almost a year ago ,God put a ministry on my heart. My first response was that there is no way I can do anything. Finances were not available for cards,stamps, gifts …..Well, God doesn’t put us thru the fire without teaching. So… that being said: several months ago, my pastor told me to think of something I can do at home to minister to others who are shut in, sick, may be going thru things I’ve been thru and it would give me something to do during the day to keep my mind occupied and hopefully bring a bit of encouragement to others. My heart has always been to help others if I can. I’ve been praying and an idea came to mind. I told my pastor about it and I continued to pray about it. God kept speaking to me about a ministry and giving me ideas. Then, I was getting confirmation. So, Little Blessings Ministry started.
My only experience in this comes from a few years ago. I participated in a food kitchen and cooked a meal for 100-250 people on a Monday night. God always provided the food and helpers for me. So, I know God can do it. I don’t know how long this will last or what or where this ministry will grow into. I’ve asked God what will happen with the ministry if my cancer prevents me from doing it. I still have days I’m wiped out and feel awful, and finances are tough . His words to me, “I’ll provide. You care for my sheep and I will provide.”
Money is always an issue but God has put 2 amazing friends and prayer warriors-Lynndell and Kathy - in my life to help . I know that receiving a card of encouragement in the mail, a little gift of snacks delivered to my door , its very easy and inexpensive to make and easy to deliver. I am stepping out in faith since God has said He has got this and it will continue despite my cancer returning. That is all I can ask is that my effort is not in vain.
The ministry is to help those who need a card of encouragement, a phone call, or a small snack delivered to their home. Being immune compromised and unable to get out and go to the store is very depressing and discouraging and gets lonely at times. I was and at times I am still confined to my house for several days , months and am still limited on where I can go. Sometimes, I wished I could have something, anything different than what my daily life entailed. As I’ve prayed, the thoughts of homemade cookies, a snack ,a card, a call to know someone cared would make for a great day. I didn’t necessarily want a long visit just a lil’ something to know someone cared. This is LITTLE BLESSINGS MINISTRY!
If you would like to help Little Blessings Ministry, share this page on your page to help spread the word about the ministry. If you know anyone who we can encourage just private message their name and address. We send out cards, prayer pockets, prayer cloths, and deliver lil gifts.
Pray about if you think you would like to help. One thing I know .... you never know what tomorrow brings. You can think you are in a good place and tomorrow , in the blink of an eye, everything can change.
Remember what you have is Gods ! He can give you back what you bless others with .
Helping others makes your problems or situation a little less stressful.
If u know of anyone who could use cheering up, a lil’ call, a note card, a prayer cloth or prayer pocket, or is recovering from something, can’t get out, or could just use a small snack-, feel free to pm me. If u would like to financially help the ministry, finance stamps or cards, donate cookies or snacks ,please message me. Youth group or teenagers who like to make cookies or bake? It’s a good way to have them serve God in a ministry to help others. There are hurting people around us all who need help. Depressing days can sometimes easily be brightened.
We deliver blessing gifts to community workers along with anyone who needs a prayer, mail out cards weekly, pray for those on our list, send out prayer cloths and prayer pockets.
Anything to encourage or help someone day a bit brighter.

31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:
32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:
43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?
45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.
46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
