Honoring the life and remembering Fallen Hero Army PFC Jacob Hamilton Sitko, 21, of Sparks Nevada who gave his life fourteen years ago on August 13, 2011 while serving our country. Jacob was currently stationed at Ft. Carson, CO. Please help us honor him so he is NEVER FORGOTTEN. 🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸

Join VFW Post and Auxiliary 4647 on Friday, September 4, 2026 as we remember our valiant American Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, Airmen, and Coast Guardsmen who were captured while fighting on foreign soil and our missing in action who have not yet returned home.

Help Make February 1 Blue Star Mothers Day! 🇺🇸

The Blue Star Mothers Day Act, S. 4789, has been introduced in the United States Senate and is currently awaiting action in the Senate Judiciary Committee. This legislation would permanently designate February 1 as Blue Star Mothers Day, honoring the service and sacrifice of military mothers across our nation.

S. 4789 is the legislation that can be passed by Congress and sent to the President to become federal law. That is why it is important for Americans to encourage their United States Senators and the Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee to support this bill and help move it forward.

💙 How can you help?

1️⃣ Contact your two United States Senators and ask them to support S. 4789, the Blue Star Mothers Day Act.

2️⃣ Contact Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Senator Chuck Grassley, Republican of Iowa, at 202-224-3744. Encourage him to advance S. 4789 out of committee when the Senate returns to session on September 14.

3️⃣ Ask your Senators to help advance the bill through the Senate so it can continue through the legislative process.

4️⃣ Share this post with your family and friends to spread awareness and encourage others to take action.

The Sacramento Blue Star Moms chapters were invited to the VFW Post 67 meeting tonight. We shared information of our upcoming events: Freedom Run, Packing Events and our mission. We encouraged the group to support SB 4789 as Blue Star Mothers Recognition Day on Feb 1st. Let’s get this done!! Please support SB4789.
