The Space Coast Human Resource Association (SCHRA), an affiliate chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), is a group of Human Resoruce professionals dedicated to:

- Providing leadership and support for the growth and development of its members
- Providing a forum for personal growth through interaction and resource exchange
- Providing opportunities for members to network wi

th other professionals
- Fostering the highest professional standards and ethics of its members.
- Strengthening alliances with other HR organizations throughout the state and country and
- Continuing to extend professional certification. Established over 40 years ago, SCHRA is a community of professionals seeking to raise the standards of performance in all phases of human resource management. SCHRA hosts monthly meetings and annual events featuring renowned local and national speakers. These speakers provide members with a new and innovative approach to all areas of human resource practices. Our professional development meetings and events provide members and guests an opportunity to network with other business professionals and share best practices. What a great way to start the day with a SCHRA breakfast meeting! We had a great time! It started with some chapter updates and a nonprofit presentation by Joye Eiker from the Support Committee at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery.

A special shout out to Tyler Jones and Brown & Brown for sponsoring today’s meeting.

There were so many take aways from speaker, Tammy Bond, on the topic “Lead Through the Mess: Turning Team Chaos Into Clarity and Results.” Thank you, Tammy, for such an insightful presentation. When you miss a meeting, you miss so much!

This past weekend, our Board of Directors had the opportunity to go deliver 50 backpacks full of toiletry and personal care item donations to the Cocoa Beach Elks Lodge 2387 in support of our local homeless veterans. We are so grateful for all the support and donations we received to help make this possible.

At this month's meeting, we spent time with Melissa Severance, PCC, learning about mindfulness and daily strategies for preventing burnout. We had a great afternoon filled with networking and discussions surrounding this incredibly relevant topic in today's workplace. Special shout out to Christopher Colby Jr and Florida Health Care Plans for sponsoring our meeting, as well as AVET Project, Inc. and Michelle Tatum-Bush for speaking as well.
