Healthcare providers play a critical role in preventing domestic violence and supporting survivors–and we wanted to highlight one of our community healthcare providers that consistently shows up for survivors.

As part of observing Domestic Violence Awareness Month each year, New Hope Midcoast creates the Empty Place at the Table memorial for community members to contemplate the impact of domestic violence and, more specifically, domestic violence homicide on our neighborhoods and towns.

This year, Empty Place at the Table will be on display in community spaces across the midcoast–including Topsham Public Library, Waldoboro Public Library, and the Waldo County YMCA.

We encourage members of the community to visit this exhibit and learn about the lives of local victims as shared by their family members. A member of New Hope’s team will remain with the exhibit to answer any questions and share information about our resources and work.

Please join us tomorrow, October 3 at Pascal Hall in Rockport for an evening of music and community!

The performance starts at 7:00 p.m. with singer/songwriters and founders of Good Trouble Project, John and Rachel Nichols. Seth Gallant joins them as the featured performer.

The Good Trouble Project concert series honors the legacy of civil rights activist Congressman John Lewis. A portion of the evening’s proceeds will support our comprehensive services for victims of domestic abuse that range from a 24/7 helpline to residential services and legal support.

We extend our thanks to the performers, the Lesher Family Foundation, and Tom O’Donovan at Harbor Square Gallery in Camden for making this evening possible. New Hope Midcoast believes that a life free from abuse is a fundamental human right.

We’re Having a Yard Sale Tomorrow!

Join us Saturday, October 3 from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. in our parking lot at 5 Beech Street in Rockland for a fabulous yard sale featuring new and gently used clothes and accessories for everyone in the family!

Some items will be from our recent Shop for Hope sale and some are never seen before. All items are by donation and benefit services for survivors of domestic abuse like advocacy, emergency shelter, and educational programs to prevent abuse and to raise awareness.

Cash, checks, and credit cards will be accepted.

We recognize October as an annual opportunity to come together as a community, to raise awareness about domestic abuse, and to support survivors who feel its impact in their lives.

We send our thanks to Liberty Graphics Camden.

Their customers could round up their purchases in August to support our services for people affected by domestic abuse. That came out to $455.20!
