Since 1963, we have been 100% ran by volunteers...
We can't thank them enough. Here's some photo's from this year's 4th of July with our amazing volunteer crew.
Have any photos to share of these amazing Rockfordians in action? Send them our way!

Also, a big thank you to our Volunteer Sponsor SpringGreen!

Small and mighty.
It’s a small amount of time to get everything in order. It’s a mighty group that volunteers their day to make it all happen.
People from the Rockford community generously giving their time on the 4th to make this event happen.
We thank the small group who commit each year on the day of the 4th. Without you, this event would fall apart. You are selfless and amazing.
Thank you Volunteers! We love ya!

OFFICIAL STATEMENT

Starting this past Friday through Saturday during setup of the fireworks, weather impacted every aspect.
Many spectacles around the state were canceled because of weather, but we were able to still continue to deliver our largest show to date.
Even after precautions were taken to deter the pyro from having issues from Mother Nature, two modules and cables caught fire from the preventive weather mortar coverings during the finale and caused the remainder of the finale to fail. We had so much packed into the finale that it already felt larger than life before the modules failed.
No one is more upset than us volunteers that work all year long to raise funds for this event to bring this to our community. We felt defeated. Even though we gave 28.5 minutes of wonder over the rock river, it stung.
We are working with our pyro company to discuss how we can make 2027 match the 2026 ending.
Thank you for your understanding.
