Rock House Kids - RHK We serve Rockford's inner city kids by bringing the love, grace, and salvation of God to fight poverty, gangs, and drugs. for those that need them.

Office hours are 9-3 PM Monday through Friday. Our program hours are 5-8 PM Monday-Thursday. Monday and Wednesday nights we work with 1st through 6th-grade students. We also have a Teen Leadership program (all teens approved by Executive Director). Tuesday and Thursday evenings are for just our teens. While with us, every child/teen receives a hot meal and a take-home kid-friendly food bag. We have chapel time and grade-appropriate class time where the kids learn of God's love from them. We also have different giveaways throughout the year (school supplies, winter coats, etc.)

The Rock House Kids (RHK) Endowment allows donors to give gifts in the form of stocks, ETFs, or mutual funds. This helps support the organization financially for many years to come and also helps RHK qualify for certain grants. While its main purpose is long-term support, the endowment can be used for short-term needs with board approval.

RHK Volunteer Spotlight: Heidi Benning.

"Hi! My name is Heidi. I am originally from Sheboygan, WI, and moved with my husband to Rock City, IL, 11 years ago. We have three kids—Brynlee (8), Easton (6), and Micah (4). I have been blessed to stay home with them since 2021.

I started working part-time at our church last summer as the assistant to the Women's Ministry director, and that's what led me to RHK. In January, as a church, we started preparing and serving dinner once a month. After serving dinner and cleaning up, we stay to worship with the students. That's my favorite part! Seeing the students praise Jesus and worship alongside them is such a great experience.

I have always loved working with kids. I was a dental hygienist before I stayed home with my kids, and my pediatric patients were my favorite! So, being able to serve at RHK, show these students Jesus' love, and fill their bellies is amazing!

I absolutely love the opportunity to pray for the kids at RHK while I shop for food, prepare the meal, drive to RHK, and serve them dinner. This is how I feel the Spirit is leading me to use my God-given gifts—by serving at RHK!"
