Making a Difference, One Book & Magazine at a Time! 📚

The Junior League of Rockford is proud to partner with United Way Rock River Valley to support United for Literacy and Reach Out and Read.

Each month, JLR members gather for a one-hour, hands-on service session to sticker and sort books and prepare literacy materials that benefit local children and families.

Small actions can make a big impact. Together, we’re helping put more books into the hands of children and supporting early literacy in our community. 👏❤️

✨ 𝗕𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 | 𝗔𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗮 𝗛𝗮𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺 ✨

👋 Meet Alissa Halcom, our Secretary and a Junior League of Rockford member for 6 years!

🥾 𝗙𝘂𝗻 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘁: Alissa loves being outdoors and exploring with her family. They’ve made it a goal to visit as many National Parks as possible and she’s lost count of how many they’ve visited! Most recently, they explored Badlands and Rocky Mountain National Parks, with New River Gorge up next!

❤️ 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗲 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗲? I love being part of something bigger than myself and being surrounded by women who are passionate about making a positive impact in our community. It’s rewarding to know that the time, energy, and ideas we put in can help make our community a better place.

We’re so grateful for Alissa’s leadership and dedication to the Junior League of Rockford! ✨
