A beautiful day to honor a beautiful man. 💙

On Tuesday, the Kiwanis Club of Rockford held our noon meeting at the Easter Seals Academy, where we gathered for a very special dedication. The walking path was dedicated in memory of our dear friend and fellow member, Steve Ellison, who we lost last year.

It was a gorgeous day and a truly moving ceremony. Steve's family and friends joined us, and it meant so much to have them there as we celebrated his life and the lasting mark he left on our club and our community. This walking path project meant so much to Steve, that the Kiwanis Club members all agreed that we needed to help make it happen.

Steve, we miss you and we're proud to see your name honored in a place that serves kids. We know that you’re proud too! Thank you to Easter Seals for hosting us, providing lunch and making this day so special.💛💙🤍💫✨

🎉 A Night of Celebration for the Kiwanis Club of Rockford! 🎉

Last night was a special evening for the Kiwanis Club of Rockford as we celebrated our annual officer installation, honored dedicated members, and welcomed new leadership!

A huge thank-you to our Immediate Past President, Lori Berkes-Nelson, for putting together such an amazing event and for helping us celebrate this important transition in our club. Lori’s two years as president have been truly remarkable. Through her thoughtful leadership, dedication, and commitment to service, she has helped guide our club, strengthen our membership, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of children throughout our community. We are incredibly grateful for all she has done and for the lasting impact of her leadership. ❤️

One of the evening’s biggest surprises was presenting Mary Price with the Amador Medallion Award in recognition of her outstanding service to our club, including 25 years of dedication and her incredible work as club secretary. Mary has been an invaluable part of Kiwanis, and we truly couldn’t do what we do without her. Thank you, Mary, for your years of commitment and service! 🏆

We also celebrated some incredible membership milestones with our Legion of Honor Awards:

What an amazing testament to the dedication and commitment of these members!

We were also excited to induct Meredith as our newest member and welcome several members who transferred into our club. We are so happy to have you all as part of our Kiwanis family! 💙

The evening continued with the induction of our new officers and a beautiful speech from our new president, Lana Dresser, as she begins her year of leadership and service. We look forward to all the wonderful things ahead!

We wrapped up the night with a social hour on the rooftop at Embassy Suites, enjoying great company and celebrating the incredible work our club does for children throughout our community.

From decades of service to new members and fresh leadership, this evening was a wonderful reminder of what makes Kiwanis so special. Together, we make a difference in the lives of children, and we are so grateful for every member who gives their time, energy, and heart to our mission. 💙

🌸 The Kiwanis Club of Rockford’s Annual Mum Sale Was a HUGE Success! 🌸💙🤍💛💫✨

What a day! 💪🌸

Our amazing Kiwanis members came together for a huge undertaking—loading semis and vehicles, transporting 800 beautiful mums back to Rockford, unloading them, and getting them distributed to our customers… all in ONE day! 🚛🌸

It took a lot of teamwork, hard work, and a whole lot of helping hands, but we came together and made it happen! 💛 And honestly, there’s something pretty special about seeing our members working side by side for a common purpose. 🙏🏽

A HUGE THANK YOU to Maggio Trucking and C. Hall Trucking for generously donating their time, drivers, and semis to help us bring the mums back to Rockford. We truly appreciate your support! 🙏🏽🚛💙

And most importantly, THANK YOU to everyone who purchased mums and supported our fundraiser! 🌸 Your generosity helps the Kiwanis Club of Rockford continue our mission of helping children in our community. Every mum purchased helps us make a difference. 💙💛🤍💫✨

🥒🍅 Growing, Harvesting & Learning at Northwest Community Center 🌱

Kiwanis Club of Rockford was happy to support a wonderful afternoon at the Northwest Community Center! Three of our members supervised eight children as they harvested fresh cucumbers and tomatoes from the center’s raised gardens.

And, of course, a few ripe raspberries made their way into some very happy hands! 🫐😊 There weren’t quite enough to share, but they were definitely enjoyed!

We love seeing kids get outside, get their hands in the soil, and experience the joy of growing and harvesting their own food. ❤️🌱
