🍩 Happy National Donut Day! 🍩

The Salvation Army created National Donut Day back in 1938 to honor the "Donut Lassies," brave volunteers who served fresh donuts and coffee to soldiers on the front lines during World War I. It was a simple act of comfort that meant the world to those far from home.

More than a century later, that same spirit of showing up for people in need is alive and well right here in Winnebago County. Every meal and every helping hand is part of that legacy.

So treat yourself to a donut today, and know that when you support The Salvation Army, you are part of a story that has been bringing hope to people for generations.
