Coosa County Farmers Federation joined with Alabama Forestry Foundation, Coosa County Conservation District, Edward McCullers Baseline Forest Services and Tallapoosa Conservation District for a great forestry tour in beautiful Marble Valley, Coosa County. Today we had our Women’s Leadership luncheon. Coosa County entered the quilt contest (Beverly Burks), table runner and wreath contest (Donna Brown) and the county commodity basket. Our county didn’t win any ribbons but we were proud to participate.

Tonight was our Farmers Federation Women’s Committee Heritage Cooking Contest. The category was Fruit Salads (non-congealed). Thank you to our judges and contestants. Our judges were Matthew Reams, Melanie Glover and Susan Wilson. The entries were Donna Brown 1st place, Beverly Burks 2nd place and Glenda Cardwell 3rd place.

The Alabama Farmers Federation Taste of Alabama legislative reception was Feb. 21 at its Montgomery home office. The event allowed farmers to have one-on-one conversations with decision-makers.

All of the candidates are wonderful people, but I have to say this one grabs the “farmers” heart!!!
