Congratulations, Chip! 🎉

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Chip Stoner, President & CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of Rockford, as the 2026 Illinois Area Council Outstanding Chief Executive Officer! 🏆

For more than four decades, Chip has dedicated himself to the Boys & Girls Club Movement. His story began as a Club kid right here in Rockford and continued as a coach, youth development professional, and ultimately, President & CEO.
Since taking the helm in 1997, Chip has led tremendous growth in our programs, facilities, staff, resources, and community impact. But through every milestone, one thing has remained constant: his commitment to creating opportunities for young people to feel supported, discover their potential, and build great futures.
This recognition celebrates not only Chip's leadership, but a lifetime of dedication to Club kids and the Rockford community.

Please join us in congratulating Chip on this well-deserved honor! 💙

Our community has experienced heartbreaking loss in recent weeks, reminding us how important it is for young people to know they are heard, valued, and supported.

At the Boys & Girls Club of Rockford, our mental health professionals provide support, trusted connections, and resources for our members and families. Through our partnership with the Tommy Corral Memorial Foundation, we also offer Healthy Minds Kids Club and Teen Support Squad, creating safe spaces for youth to talk, connect, and build healthy coping skills.

Our mental health services are supported by the Winnebago County Community Mental Health Board, made possible through a voter-approved 1/2 cent sales tax.

🚒 A special thank you to Rockford Fire Department - Rockford Fire Department Station #1! 🇺🇸

We’re grateful to the firefighters from Fire Station #1 who took the time to help our Stenstrom Club by putting up a new rope and flag for us.

It’s acts of kindness like this that remind our Club kids what it means to have a community that shows up for one another. ❤️

Thank you to these firefighters for serving our community every day and for taking a little extra time to help make our Club a better place. We appreciate you! 🇺🇸🚒

Reading Night at our Stenstrom Unit!

Our families had a great evening reading A Bad Case of Stripes, getting creative with mask crafts, and decorating their very own reading bins!

Every member received a copy of the book, and families went home with a literacy kit plus additional books of their choice to keep building their home libraries.

A huge thank you to United Way Rock River Valley for helping us create opportunities that bring families together and inspire a love of reading!
Strong readers. Brighter futures.
