♻️🌎 Learning, Creating & Recycling! 🌎♻️

Our individuals had an awesome opportunity to visit the Recycling & Education Center and see firsthand what happens to recyclable materials after they’re collected! 👀♻️ They watched materials being sorted, crushed, compressed, and prepared to be reused, giving them a better understanding of how recycling helps protect our environment. 🌱🌍

The learning continued through creativity! 🎨✂️📚 Our individuals used recyclable materials to create crafts and their own tiny books, showing how everyday items can be transformed and given a new purpose. ♻️✨

🫐Today our individuals enjoyed a wonderful morning picking fresh blueberries that they’ll be using to help make a delicious dessert for tomorrow’s cookout! Along the way, they showed kindness by encouraging one another, holding hands, and making sure everyone could enjoy the experience together.🫐

⭐️Every week is filled with opportunities for our individuals to explore, learn, and create lasting memories together. From exciting outdoor adventures to building everyday life skills, these experiences help foster confidence, independence, friendships, and joy.⭐️

This last week our individuals:

🛶 Took on a fun lake outing where they enjoyed kayaking, swimming, and conquering the giant inflatable obstacle course.

🐻🦜🦁 Explored John Ball Zoo, discovering incredible animals while enjoying the beauty of nature and spending time together outdoors.

🍔 🌶️ Strengthened their cooking and independent living skills during a cookout by preparing stuffed peppers and hamburgers —washing, chopping peppers, stuffing them, and grilling their own meal before enjoying lunch together.

⚓ Visited the Coast Guard for an unforgettable tour, learning about the important work they do while exploring the boats and finishing the day with a well-deserved ice cream treat🍦

At One Day Niche, our individuals are learning real-life money management skills—from collecting and returning cans to budgeting and purchasing items they need for our day program. These hands-on opportunities help build independence, confidence, and understanding of everyday responsibilities.

We’re inviting our community to be part of this impact. If you have cans you’d like to donate, you can drop them off and directly support our individuals as they learn, grow, and gain valuable life skills.
