Today was the big day! Austin presented a check for $400 to Rockford Mass Transit, earlier this afternoon. He was also able to help pass out ice cream bars to our bus drivers.

All of the local news channels were on hand, so keep an eye out tonight (fairly certain it’ll air tonight) while watching your favorite newscast. Austin even sold the bracelet off of his wrist and added that $5 to his donation!

We want to thank all of you, one last time, for all of the support. We were confident that Austin would be able to raise some funds, but because of the generosity of friends, family, neighbors, and even a few strangers, he was able to exceed all expectations. You’ve made this an experience to remember, and a successful one at that. Take care everyone.

The boss wanted me to fill everyone in on RMTD’s plan. They were thrilled with what he was able to accomplish; Which, wouldn’t have been possible without the help of all you. They have decided to put a portion of the proceeds towards an Ice Cream Social for the drivers, that will be held on July 1st.
Austin will be in attendance to present them with a check, as well as help with distributing the ice cream bars. We’re excited that RMTD was able to come up with something fun for their employees, while allowing for Austin to be included in the process. Woohooooo!

Quick update. We are nearing the end of Austin’s Fundraiser. There are still 15 bracelets left, however there have been several people who have promised to come by and acquire bracelets next time they are in town. That said, despite having 15 left, because a number of you were generous enough to either round up your donation or send over a donation without picking up bracelets, we are in a position to donate the initial goal of $375 to RMTD, while allowing Austin to recoup the vast majority of his initial investment.

So, the plan is to reach out to RMTD and drop off the donation sometime this week. If/when additional bracelets are sold, Austin will recoup the last $15 of his seed money (he also bought a bracelet himself, of course), and anything beyond that will be donated to a cause of Austin’s choosing. If we get to that point, we’ll keep all of you updated. Thanks again for everyone’s support. Austin will make a follow up post tonight and then we’ll make one last announcement once the donation has been made. 🙌👏
