Tonight marked a powerful milestone for Secondary Success and Beyond as we gathered to select the recipient of our inaugural scholarship award.

We are incredibly grateful to the dedicated volunteer selection committee and the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois for helping make this opportunity possible for local students.

Reading through the applications was truly inspiring—our community is filled with driven, passionate, and resilient young leaders. Truthfully, the only thing that would have made tonight even better is having the funding to support more than one student. There were several incredibly deserving applicants.

🎓 $27 for the Class of 2027

What if $27 could help a student stay enrolled in college, buy textbooks, or complete a trade certification?

Secondary Success & Beyond is launching 27 for the Class of 2027, a peer-to-peer giving campaign to support local students pursuing college, trade programs, and certifications. The money you give today will impact next year’s scholarship awardees and beyond.

Our scholarship fund is endowed, meaning it will exist forever to support students year after year. Our goal is to fully fund the scholarship by August 2026, and this campaign is one of the ways we’re getting there.

📣 Scholarship Applications Are Now Open!

The Secondary Success and Beyond Scholarship Fund is now accepting applications from eligible students who are committed to education, service, and community impact.

Eligibility Criteria:
• Current college students or individuals pursuing a trade or certificate program
• Residents of Winnebago, Boone, Stephenson, or Ogle County
• Demonstrated commitment to mentoring or community service
• Preference may be given to students who intend to bring their talents and skills back to their community

🗓 Application Deadline: February 1, 2026
