Rockdale Rotary Club

With a cold front moving in tonight, it’s a great time to go through those closets and see what coats and hoodies your family has outgrown or no longer needs.

And next time you’re buying a new coat, consider adding a second one to your cart for a child in need. ❤️

Let’s help keep Rockdale kids warm this winter!

This week, the Rockdale Rotary Club had the pleasure of welcoming Jeff Coleman, District 5870 Governor, who shared an inspiring message about what it truly means to be a Rotarian.

One message stood out: Rotary doesn’t make impact — Rotarians do.

Through service, generosity, and a commitment to making a difference, Rotarians turn ideas into meaningful action. One example is Project Tumaini, a clean-water initiative working to bring safe drinking water to schools in Tanzania, helping students access something every child deserves: clean water.

It’s a powerful reminder that real change begins when people come together with a purpose and take action to serve others.

What is the culture of Rotary?

At our most recent meeting, we took some time to reflect on a meaningful question: What is the culture of Rotary, and what does that look like here in Rockdale?

And to be honest, we were stumped for a minute.

We all know what Rotary is, our mission, and we know how it makes us feel. But defining culture isn’t easy.

Here’s what our club members said:

Inclusive.
Compassionate.
Purposeful.
Community-driven.
Welcoming.
Collaborative.

We may come from different backgrounds, have different experiences, and bring different perspectives to the table, but we share something important: a desire to show up for our community and make a difference.

That’s the culture of Rockdale Rotary. And we’re proud to be part of it.

Pack Pals provides weekend food bags to students in Rockdale, Thorndale, Milano, and Gause ISD, helping ensure local children have access to food even when school is out.

We believe strong communities start with taking care of our neighbors, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to support an organization making a difference in the lives of local students. 🎒

Thank you to Pack Pals for the important work you do for our community!

People ask, “What does Rotary do?”

Sometimes, it’s spending 30 minutes after work packing food for kids to take home for the weekend.

Small Project.
Big Purpose.
Service Above Self.

Who’s ready for some Tiger football tonight?! 🐯🏈

Last week, Rockdale Rotary was honored to welcome Coach Hunter Hamrick, Rockdale ISD Athletic Director & Head Football Coach, to our meeting.

As Rotarians, we’re proud to support our students, our schools, and the people who help make our community stronger.

Good luck tonight, Tigers!

Service Above Self is at the heart of everything we do as Rotarians.

We were honored to welcome Mayor Ward to our Rotary meeting to share updates and educate our members about what’s happening in Rockdale.

We believe serving our community starts with being informed, engaged, and willing to listen. We’re grateful for a mayor who values transparency, honesty, and open communication

Service Above Self. Community Above All. 💙

A great evening with the Rotary family! 💙

Last month, we gathered at Red’s Corner for our monthly Rotary Social—a chance for Rotarians to relax, connect, and introduce guests who may be interested in getting involved in our community.

Want to learn more about Rotary or what we do in our community? Send us a message! We’d love to connect with you!
