Rockdale Rotary is part of Rotary International, a global network of volunteer members dedicated to humanitarian service and promoting goodwill. Our club is always looking for new members with hearts of service. We invite you to come to one of our meetings and see if our organization is a good fit for you and how you want to serve Rockdale and Southern Milam County. We meet at noon on Tuesdays at

Rockdale Volunteer Fire Department, with the exception of the third Tuesday of each month, which is Board meeting only. Feel free to message us via Facebook or our email address for more information.

The 2026 Best of Rockdale was certainly good to Rockdale Rotary Club this year!

Thank you to all who voted!

Newly minted Board Chair Steve Laukhuf (also a Rotarian!) recognized Citizen of the Year Gaye Bland and Chamber Ambassador of the Year Homer Mowdy at our club meeting Tuesday.

And…drum roll please…the Community Impact Award goes to…Rockdale Rotary.

We are humbled to have received this prestigious recognition and proud of our club members who work so hard to serve our community.

Marc Center does so much for an underserved population in our community. Supporters showed up in droves at The Ranch Saturday morning to make donations, but auction items and join in the MARC ride.

Rockdale Rotary Club was honored to support this beautiful organization with a monetary donation.

Thank you, Ann King, for everything you do for your consumers. Rockdale is blessed to have you and your service to others! And thank you, Charles Starr, for once again taking the reins of this annual event. You and the other organizers killed it!

If you have been waiting for the free fan giveaways in Rockdale, Milano and Gause, TOMORROW is the day!

Before getting into all the details, we want to shout a huge THANK YOU to all of you for every single dollar and fan donated. You all have made it possible for over 200 people to have cooler homes in South Milam County! 💛

All Locations:

✨ ONE fan per address
✨ No deliveries

ROCKDALE
✨ Pickup location is the empty lot next to Caffey Corner where Brett's BBQ used to be
✨ ENTER ONLYL that lot from W Cameron Ave (signs will be posted marking the entry)
✨ EXIT ONLY at the opposite end of that field onto Wilcox
✨ NOOOOOOO parking in Caffey Corner's store lot - signs will also be posted there as a reminder
✨ Pickup time is 1pm - 3pm OR until we run out of fans, whichever comes first

MILANO
✨ Pickup location is Milano Volunteer Fire Department

Looky here, y’all! 👀 Walmart had told us they would not be dropping the price on the fans this year, but alas, it’s happened! 🙌

😎 If you want to support Project Cool 2026, but don’t want to go purchase a fan, we’ve got easy options for you:

☀️ Venmo $25 (per fan) to -bland
☀️ Mail a check, made out to Rockdale Rotary Club (please note Project Cool 2026 on the memo line), to PO Box 294, Rockdale 76567

🎉 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS! 👩🏾‍🎓🧑‍🎓

If you ever wonder what Rockdale Rotary Club does with the funds raised at our annual Casino Night, here is a great representation!

Because of your support and generosity, we were honored to recognize these bright minds with $2️⃣0️⃣,0️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ in scholarships this year! 🤩

Join us in a virtual standing ovation to our Scholarship Committee - Melissa Barcuch (Chair), Maci Wages and Mike Vance. They put in many hours pouring over the applications and making tough decisions. 👏

After today's club meeting, we headed to the Youth Opportunity Center for our annual assembly of goodie bags for all Milam County first responders.

Each year 4 of the Center's residents earn the privilege to participate in the project. This year's young men, as always, worked hard and were very respectful.

Each bag contains snacks, hand sanitzer, gum, etc to show our appreciation for the work all first responders do for Milam County.

We would like to thank the Youth Opportunity Center for allowing us to use their facility and for their help in assisting with setup yesterday and with helping load the boxes into the delivery vehicles.

Be watching for more photos from deliveries made to many of the agencies. 💙
