The Kay Theater once again serves as a community center, hosting special events, weddings, music & theatrical performances, and movie screenings. The Kay Theater Foundation is proud to announce being awarded an $8100 grant from Texas Historical Foundation for upcoming facade repairs and interior improvements. The project begins this week with plans to complete work by mid-July. Check out the week's issue of The Rockdale Reporter for the complete story. The Kay is looking forward to a fresh face and hosting more events for the community.

Saturday was a fun day at The Kay where Diana Casario of B & D Longarm Quilting hosted a quilting class with lunch and a movie. (How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days)
Quilting is a wonderful art form in which the artists constantly work to improve their skills and learn new techniques. Even picking your fabric colors and patterns is part of the art process. The project of the day was making pot holders so as to learn how to do binding -- such as on the edge of a quilt. Looking forward to the next class and helping to promote the textile arts.
