We had a great time at the 3rd Annual Hocking Hills Pollinator Gardening Symposium yesterday. A big thank you to all of our presenters including Dani Gill (Hocking Soil and Water), Gary Conley (Green Reach), Pike Fetgatter Butterfly Ridge/Hocking College), Courtney Denning (Deeply Rooted Landscapes), and me. All of the talks were informative and very well received.

Also a big thanks to our other sponsors and supporters including Logan in Bloom, Hocking Hills Lodging Owners Association, Precision Imprint, Brewery 33, and Hocking Hills Herbals. A big thank you to our volunteers who helped with set-up and tear-down, as well as the Polygonia Board: Brandon Kramer, Eileen Kline, and Andy Jackson (Hannah Kopp was not able to attend). A thank you to Logan Theater, it is great venue, especially with the new AV upgrades!

Most importantly, thank you to our 55 registered attendees. We are so glad that there is so much interest for protecting and helping our local pollinators!

What will be new in 2026? For one thing, we will be starting a quarterly newsletter. It will showcase upcoming events and fun discoveries for both Butterfly Ridge and our non-profit The Polygonia Foundation. Here is a sample page from the January, 2026 edition. To receive the newsletter, go to https://www.polygoniafoundation.org/ and at the bottom of the page add your email address and click subscribe. If you have already subscribed, then you are already on the list! The full January issue will arrive in your email around January 1, 2026.

Join us for a Seed Harvesting Workshop at Butterfly Ridge on Sunday, October 5 at 2pm. Everybody will go home with seed, if they want. Learn how to identify particular species growing on the BR property, their uses by pollinators, and tell when they are ready to harvest. BYOBB (Bring Your Own Brown Bag!) Sponsored by Hocking Hills Wild Ones. No pre-registration required.
