Calling all board game and conservation fans!!!

The art of prairie restoration and management has made its way into the game board world!

The Gist of the Game: The game can be played with 2-6 people and lasts about 60-90 minutes. Players take turns to establish (cooperatively) a beautiful and diverse plant community while countering real restoration challenges using unique skills of your specialist roles.

Having been a part of their test group we can attest to its accuracy of the joys and setbacks of any restoration project. This collaborative game has you grumbling against spray drift, monitoring soil conditions, and desperately trying to stop the spread of invasive plants.

The game was designed and illustrated by Dordt University staff and students. Thanks to an Iowa REAP-CEP Grant, this game will be made available FREE to 5th-12th Grade Classrooms and Libraries in Iowa to promote ecological literacy!

For individuals looking to get a copy of the game, the more board games purchased, the lower the price for everyone! It is expected that the price will come in under $50 per set. A single manufacturing run is expected to take place in November of 2026. As they approach that date and have a firm price they will contact everyone who has submitted a pre-order to give the final price and request payment. We are busy getting ready for this weekend!
Our open house is Saturday June 27 from 9:00-noon!

We counted at least 79 different species of native plants growing inside!
