The Rock Springs Rotary Club met last night at the historic Park Hotel. See pictures below with 1930 vintage automobiles parked outside. If they have a corner stone - it must be 100 years olds now.
The Rotary Club held its 2nd monthly meeting on July 22, 2026 and invite all those interested in Rotary to attend, five potential new members attended the meeting.
President Laura Peevers informed the group that this was our second meeting of the month and it was scheduled as a social event. Many of the new potential members were intereted in what Rotary does.
Laura explained that at the upper level of Rotary International has 1.2 million members who are tackling some of humanities problem on a worldwide scale. i.e. End Polio Now, developing clean water for remote villages, and many other projects. RI has a funding drive to help the victims of the dual earthquakes in Venezuela and many other problems around the World.
On a more local level The Rotary Club has in the past done the following:
Donated to clubs in the District that are helping villagers collect and store water in large safe containers.
A local eye doctor has joined other doctors and travel to Guatemala to help the locals with their eye problems,
In Rock Springs - The Rotary Club has performed these services: participated in Citywide Cleanup, Use our mobile cooking grill to cook hamburgers for local events, Recognized outstanding local high school students, Cooked at the Sweetwater County Events Complex for various events, Provide the large 30 ft X 60 ft flags for the city of Rock Springs 150 foot flagpole ( These flag cost us around $2000,00 each) and many other worthy services.
