DID YOU KNOW...

Paperboard and Chipboard, which is the material that cereal, soda, pasta, and numerous other food product boxes are made of can be recycled with cardboard (preferred) or mixed paper. When it is separate from these streams and bailed by itself, if costs the Center money to recycle it. When it is combined with cardboard or mixed paper, we make money with it. It is as much as a $160 per ton net difference. This means there is no need to keep it separate. Just toss it in with your cardboard and it will help is financially!

We appreciate everyone's patience as we try to dig out of the mess at the Center. Our baler had a major structural failure last week that required extensive welding and new parts. The baler was returned to service yesterday (Thursday) thanks to an amazing member of our community. Our team is working as quickly as possible to get caught up.

For those who are choosing to stop to take pictures and complain, we encourage you to use that time to pop your head in and ask our team what is going on and if there is anything you can do to help.

You can start by swinging by this weekend between 8 and 12 and volunteer your time to help us get caught up. Our team will be there to guide you.

After 8+ years and over 16,470 hours worked, we say goodbye to our manager Darrell Morey. Darrell has decided to retire and focus on his heath and, we hope, some relaxation. For those that know Darrell, he has been the glue that has held the Center together for years. When he has had to step away for short periods, things didn't go so well and the minute he returned, stability returned. We will miss him dearly, but wish him nothing but the best in his next chapter. If you happen to be near the Center today, swing in and wish him a Happy Retirement!

We love that we live in a community that always answers the call for help!

As many of you have probably noticed, there has been a massive pile of HDPE pipe laying next to the Center for months. We have been trying to put small dents into the pile, but have struggled. Late last week, we were put into contact with David Miller at R P Oilfield Service. This morning David and his team showed up to tackle the mountain of pipe. They also reached out to Peter S. Leibee at Rock Springs Bobcat who donated a rental skid loader to assist with the project! Thank you R P Oilfield Service & Rock Springs Bobcat !!!

With that said, please note that there will be quite a bit of extra activity occurring around the Center this week. Please use caution as you drop off your recyclables.

UPDATE...We have someone lined up to come out and help us tomorrow (Sunday) morning. A huge shout out to our community once again!

ISO of Professional Mobile Welder

We have been having issues with our baler this week. This morning, we uncovered what we believe to the cause. A metal block welded to the inside of the machine has busted loose. We are in need of someone who might be able to come weld it back in place. If you are able to assist, please send us a PM or comment on this post. If we can get it fixed ASAP, we can work on getting caught up on the massive holiday cardboard pile accumulating outside.

Thanks!
