Success in business isn't just about what you know, it's also about who you know.

Here are 3 ways to build stronger business relationships:

Tourism is more than sightseeing.

It is business growth. It is restaurant visits, overnight stays, gas station stops, family outings, local jobs, community partnerships, and new opportunities for Walker County.

In this episode of Walker Talks, Lacey Smith and Ashley Mew sit down with Jamie Ann Rennick of Rock City for a conversation about why tourism matters to Walker County business.

Rock City is one of our areaโ€™s most recognized attractions, but this conversation goes beyond the view. We talk about how tourism brings revenue into our community, how seasonal events keep both locals and visitors coming back, and how thoughtful growth can strengthen the businesses and communities around us.

Jamie shares what is happening at Rock City this summer, including Americana-themed experiences, Dog Days, Birds of Prey shows, the celebration of the iconic โ€œSee Rock Cityโ€ barns and birdhouses, and the role Walker County schools played in this special season.

We also talk about the Enchanted Pumpkin Patch, Enchanted Garden of Lights, Rock Cityโ€™s partnership with the Chattanooga Lookouts, and the proposed gondola project from Blowing Springs Farm to Rock City.

At the Walker County Chamber of Commerce, our May focus is tourism because tourism is economic development. When people visit Walker County, they discover our attractions, support our businesses, and become part of the story we are building together.
