Jackie Telford has been a driving force behind getting our theatre restored. She has served as our President for many years and it is with great sadness that we report that she has passed away. We really wish that she could have seen what the theatre will become for our community. We will continue our work with her memory in our heart. Thanks for all your years of service to the community.

The Rapids Theatre would like to thank everyone who took the time to stop in and grab some popcorn, ask questions, and make a donation today! It really shows that there is an interest in what we’re doing. We have quite a bit to do yet, every bit helps us move towards our goal of preserving a piece of the Rock Rapids heritage. Eventually we’d love for this to be a functional theatre and venue for use by our community. As a reminder, we do have some merchandise available for a short period. Hello Friends of Rapids Theatre!

We have an exciting opportunity for you to support our project and get yourself some amazing gear while doing it! Follow the link below to check them out. The Rapids Theatre Preservation Society would like to thank the Lyon County Riverboat Foundation for this year’s mini grant. This will go a long way in helping us with some much needed electrical improvements, moving us further in the direction of restoring this amazing building.

We are so grateful to the Lyon County Riverboat! With the mini grant we were able to get some electrical work done which included a new plug and outlet for the popcorn machine.
