A potential felony charge means Sam's legal costs could surmount to $40,000 within a year. Sam and his lifelong friends Dante and Dandre were recently pulled over in Clay County, Texas, as they were traveling home from a trip to Colorado to celebrate their 21st birthdays. All three young men were working and living in Houston, where Sam had recently moved and started working at Whole Foods. Sam an
d his friends grew up in Rock Island, are hard-working, responsible, respectful, and productive citizens. After the arrest on April 25th, they were jailed in Clay County with a bail of $50,000 (each), of which $5,000 in cash had to be paid to get them released. To retain a lawyer and for ongoing legal fees for this non-violent offense, Sam, who is facing a felony, needs all the support he can possibly get from friends, family, and the community. Sam is back in Rock Island and is working, but the insurmountable legal costs seem impossible to face on his own. In this greatly challenging time, Sam and family humbly ask for your support. ANY and ALL donations, a dollar, five dollars, ANY amount you can give, (and anyone you can share his story with), will help ease the severity and suffering of the situation.
