We believe that Character is of far more value than talent. We also believe that important than basketball. Because of these beliefs, we expect each player to adopt a model that will set them up to be successful even after the gym lights are turned off. We expect our players to treat each another as equals, both on and off the court. We expect our players to show a positive attitude and respect to
their fellow teammates, their coaches and to the referees. We may not respect a referee’s call, but we will most certainly respect his authority to make the call. Under no circumstances are the boys allowed to argue with a call. Not only is such arguing highly unproductive and ineffective, it shows a lack of respect for authority, and that carries over into life. Besides, the coaching staff will do its best to be in “productive communication” with the referees throughout the game. Foul language, of any kind, is totally unacceptable. We remind our players of the amount of dedication and effort it takes to become successful on and off the court. This is what makes our program effective and makes champions, which is our ultimate goal. We teach using details, fundamentals, skill drills, etc. We value each player! We will give the player the time they need to develop. We will evaluate every player fairly and use good judgment at all times.
