This past week a few of our volunteers passed out bouquets to residents at Aberdeen. They set up a little pop-up and residents were able to stop by and pick out the bouquet that brought them the most joy!

We already know the ways flowers can brighten a day but getting to connect and interact with one another because of the flowers was extra special. We don't know if it was more meaningful for the residents or for our volunteers!

Here we grow!! Over the past few months, Joy Petalers has been working with Beanstalk Web Solutions to update our website! It has been a labor of love to figure out how to capture who Joy Petalers is, all the ways we have grown, the impact we have had, and all the ways we hope to bloom in the future. Kicking our week off with some Monday gratitude. Joy Petalers simply could not and would not exist if it weren't for our community of volunteers. Every single week volunteers pick up flowers, deconstruct and prep florals, create arrangements and bouquets, deliver to our facilities, etc. etc. etc. We have grown from a small but mighty group into a network of over 400 active volunteers!

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us spread joy and create connections every single day! We are beyond grateful for each and every one of you!

We know Dolly would approve of the Joy Petalers mission. She was quoted saying, "I get all those flowers - we were doing one nighters in my dressing room, and I thought, 'Oh, I can't take all of them on the bus. What am I gonna do?' So we ... started sending them out to old age homes or the hospitals and to children's hospitals. Something to just make people happy."

The Joy Petalers team and Floristas are channeling all of Dolly's sparkly energy and kindness this week and always! (And listening to her music in our workshop too!)

Thank you to the Webster-Kirkwood Times Newspapers for this thoughtful feature! We feel very lucky to be situated in a community that believes in the work we do and helps us spread joy one beautiful bouquet at a time!

Tucked away in Rock Hill is a blossoming nonprofit called Joy Petalers. In fitting with its name, the organization is spreading joy by giving flowers to those across the St. Louis area who could use a little pick-me-up.
